| Our Conductor - Jeffrey Stirling | |||||||||||
|
Dr. Jeff Stirling draws on experiences as a guest conductor with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and a cover conductor with the Minnesota Orchestra.
He is currently also music director of the Saint Paul Civic Symphony,
and has been a guest conductor with the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra and
several other regional and metropolitan orchestras. Dr. Stirling has
served as Interim Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Minnesota,
multiple college orchestras, and since 2002 has been a conductor with the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies.
Jeff's education includes an undergraduate degree from Yale University, his doctorate from Northwestern University, and advanced conductorial training in France at the Paris Conservatory with Charles Bruck. Jeff plays viola himself, and his wife, Shari Speer, is often a vocal soloist with our orchestra, and occasionally pitches in on exotic percussion. Jeff and Shari live in St.Paul. |
